NIH-Internal & External Requisitioner (NBS) Course Number: 9516
DescriptionParticipants in this course learn how to order goods from the NIH warehouses as well as outside vendors using the NIH Business System (NBS). Students will engage in hands-on exercises in the NBS Training Environment and will also receive a useful how-to guide for desk reference.
This course is mandatory for all prospective NBS Internal and External Requisitioners. Key TopicsInternal Requisitioner
- Navigate the iProcurement system
- Search for catalog items
- Create an internal requisition
- Edit internal requisitions at the line level
- Set iProcurement preferences (Internal / External)
- Copy requisitions and use the favorites list
- Cancel line items or an entire requisition

External Requisitioner

- Define Approvers
- Edit External requisitions at the line level

AudienceThis course is mandatory for all NIH personnel who will use these NBS functions to perform their job. (Individuals who do not complete this training will not be granted access to the NBS as an NBS Requisitioner.)
Special Note: For NBS access as a Requisitioner-Internal and/or Requisitioner-External, this course must be completed. Please see the NBS Acquisitions Community page for instructions on completing a User Access request form.
- This course does not include training on the invoice payment process.
